ADVENTURE IS KNOWLEDGE

Adventure is knowledge.  I can't think of a more important need for young children than to establish a thirst for learning that only knowing can quench.

Definitely feeling a handicap over the last years with depleted finances and baby in tow our adventures had become scarce.  Then I called b.s. on myself because those are lame excuses.  There are PLENTY of adventures to be had nearby.  Many free and now with my baby being 2, well, its time to get back out there.

Recently, I established adventure Wednesday with my kids.  Housework be damned, we jump into the minivan and we go rock an adventure.  Some days bigger than others but each time filled with anticipation and experiences we won't soon forget.

Last Wednesday, my little explorers and I spent the morning observing local wildlife at a nearby nature museum.  The time we spent was fun and the kids learned a lot.  Like....

The Puppy Dog does not like posing for cliche pictures...
And the Mouse loves butterflies.....

Until they get too close!

Of course, I want to show my kids the world.  Who doesn't?  But don't let that stop you from finding the adventures in your very own backyard!

There are lots of adventures out there to do with kids. Poor puppy dog, he looks sad in that picture.

I so need to get on your bandwagon. We get so crazed in our everyday life that we do not take advantage of all the great adventures in our backyard.
Oh and I don't much like those cliche pictures either :)

That scared face is precious! Maybe because she realized that butterflies are nothing but flying worms

I totally agree with you. Hubby and I thought the same about finances until we remembered that we live in a city that's filled with free activities and awesome sights to see!

By the way, that pic of Mouse and the butterfly is adorable!
