From the outside, while driving around town, I totally look like I Rock the Mini. The honk I received the other day from a young, hot guy tells me so. (It had nothing to do with the light turning green.) But once I park and hit the button on those oh-so convenient sliding doors, the truth reveals itself.
For some reason, my kids seem to be confusing my minivan as a trash can/storage unit. Yep, you name it, you can probably find it on the floor of my mini. And when the wind picks up, heaven help me as the napkins go flying sending me running through the parking lot trying not to make Mother Nature mad. ( That's what I get for telling my kids about Mother Nature's fury when it comes to littering)
So here I am turning to you to make me feel better about myself. (Selfish, I know.) What's on the floors of your minivan (or other much lamer vehicle)?
And....
How can I fix it? (And if you say just pick it up on your way inside like my brilliant hubby, you obviously are not thinking about the 5 bags, one lovey, drink and sleeping baby in my arms.)

I'd say I have at least a dozen rogue cheerios and raisins, a goldfish or two, an Olivia book, and a bag that holds too much random crap to disclose. There is a garbage can right next to my parking spot which helps me eliminate the juice boxes and dirty napkins every time I come home.
I'm glad that young, hot guy gave you the shout out you deserved! :)
I keep my car pretty clean, but know what I can never get rid? Sprinkles. From donuts / munchkins. Or glitter - i loathe glitter!
I have about a bazillion binkies on the floor in my minivan, some blankets, teething rings, burp clothes, and bibs. There is also some Cars and Legos from my older boys. What works for me with the older two is telling them that if they are still on the floor in X amount of days, I'm going to throw them away. No exceptions. They are 8 and 5 and can handle that. Besides, they need to learn to take care of their things.
But for the baby stuff. I'm just getting a little tote to put them in, because you never know when you will need a binkie, blanket, burp cloth, or bib in the car.
Now, ask me how long I've been planning on buying the tote and if I've done it yet!
Ewww,,, I don't even want to think about what is on my floors! Every time I unbuckle the girls and glance down, I cringe!!
At the same time, I never get around to cleaning it.
I know for sure there are BOOGIES!! Gracie tells us every time she throws one down!! lovely!!
Probably some raisins, goldfish, old stale bagel, a lot of crumbs.. some random socks and shoes.. my little ponies!!
I could probably have a garage sale with what is on the floor of my car!!

Hilarious! I had to run right out to my mini and see what really was there...those things that I have become so immune to seeing that I hardly notice any more...cheerios, kleenex (clean? I hope), 3 sippy cups that I'm afraid to take out and look at the residue, dum-dum sticks stuck in the little holders on the door...
What works? Waiting until my hubby has to go for a ride or drive it and gets grossed out enough to clean it up for me. ;-) Sad but true.
the back seat of our car looks like a daycare center. toys everywhere!! does that help?
Oh ours is filthy. My five year old just throws things on the floor of the minivan. It drives me crazy - really she thinks it is a garbage pit and then my older two do it just because it is so filthy. Sadly I have no solutions.
This made me giggle....
I used to be SO embarrassed when I picked the kids up from school, their teacher opened the door for them, and trash fell out. But at least now I know I wasn't the only one.
My kids are bigger now so my trick is - make them do it!
I was a tough one. I never let them eat or drink in my car. We always took daddy's car and they could do whatever they wanted in there! LOL
My car is total nightmare! I finally cleaned it out last weekend but haven't vacuumed it yet. It looks so bad!
UGH!!! I know!! I clean it one day, and the next it's trashed. When you come up with a good solution, let me know ;)
My car was clean when I had one kid. Now with 2 kids it's a disaster. No idea how to fix this problem other than keep the kids out. Yeah, right.
